Q. What material is the Chow Down Game Feeder constructed of?
A. This feeder's tank, funnel, deflector plates, control box, and lid are constructed of galvanized 18ga. metal and the strong points like the 4 corners are constructed of 1/8" powder coated metal. The legs are 1" sch 40 pipe and are powder coated.
Q. What stops raccoons from gaining access to the feed?
A. The two deflector plates 24"X24"are positioned approx. 1" apart and the spinner is located in the middle of the two deflector plates. A large raccoon's front leg is approx. 9 - 11" long making it impossible for it to reach the spinner plate.
Q. How does this feeder eliminate feed waste?
A. The Chow Down Game Feeder eliminates wasted feed by not allowing any varmints to have the capability to access the feed. The two deflector plate is specifically designed to stop animals from getting to feed.
Q. How does the low profile help?
A. The low profile of the Chow Down Game Feeder is designed approx. 60" from ground level to top of feeder and in most situations the taller feeders have the potential for wind gust spinning the spinner plate due to their height. The typical game feeder's spinner is exposed to high gust of wind and the design of the two deflector plates on the Chow Down Game Feeder eliminate potential wind gust issues.
Q. Does the Chow Down Game Feeder throw corn as far as the typical elevated feeders?
A. Yes. The Chow Down Game Feeder was tested and it will throw corn approx. 60 feet from center of feeder.
Q. How hard is it to remove the corn from feeder?
A. It is a very simple and easy process to remove the corn. If one would need to move the feeder locations it is as simple as using removing eight 1/4" bolts on the bottom deflector plate and remove one 1/4" bolt out of the bottom of the spinner assembly. Once the deflector plate and the spinner plate are removed it is as easy as placing a typical 5 gallon bucket under the feeder and letting the feed free flow into the bucket and transferring into a transfer canister.
Q. Can the Chow Down Game Feeder be shipped?
A. Yes. The Chow Down Game Feeder is manufactured to have the capability of fitting into two packages. The larger package will be approx. 2'L X 2'W X 8" thick and the smaller package will fit into a cylinder 5" diameter X 32" L.
Q. How many people does it take to assemble the Chow Down Game Feeder?
A. This feeder can be assembled by one person with a cordless drill and a 7/16" socket bit.
Q. How much corn does the Chow Down Game Feeder broadcast?
A. The Chow Down Game Feeder is made with such precision that the feeder is tested to spin approx. 2 to 2.5 lbs. of corn for each 5 seconds of spin time.
Q. How long will the Chow Down Game Feeder last?
A. The life expectancy of the Chow Down Game Feeder should last a lifetime. The only components that may need replacing will be the battery, timer, solar panel, and motor.
Q. How much feed does the Chow Down Game Feeder hold?
A. The 24" X 24" will hold 400# of corn.
Q. What will happen when hogs try to flip the Chow Down Game Feeder?
A. We sell a Flip Proof feeder base assembly. The Flip Proof feeder base assembly will totally eliminate the Chow Down Game Feeder from being turned over by animals or wind.
Q. Is the Chow Down Game Feeder safe to animals?
A. Yes. The Chow Down Game Feeder's design is humane to all animals.
Q. How difficult will it be to retrieve objects dropped in corn bin of the Chow Down Game Feeder?
A. Not difficult at all. Due to its low profile, one can reach into the feeder bin to retrieve fallen objects (like feed bags).
